Dixie Carter: TNA Wrestling President to Step Down Amid Controversy?

According to "The Sports Courier", multiple employees within TNA Wrestling, as well as former employees, are saying that Dixie Carter may be forced to step down from her spot as president of the company, following a number of lawsuits against the company as of late.

S. Bruce of Cageside Seats reported a little while back that there were suits pending against TNA Wrestling, including one from former Knockout, Daffney. She was said to be suing over lack of medical coverage. This, along with several employees speaking out about TNA's shady practices to the Better Business Bureau, make many believe Carter is trying to get out before things get too rough.

TSC was told that Carter's mother may be overseeing the company until she comes back. It is said that Carter is "lying low" from all the controversy. She has also been absent from social networking as of late, even after her Twitter account was restored. It got many wondering about her, and these issues could be what resulted in her falling off the map, if you will.

Many believe that the "straw that broke the camel's back" was the sexual harassment lawsuit recently filed against TNA, which has been confirmed by multiple sources. 

Some believe Carter's replacement could be former WCW President Eric Bischoff, which would be interesting to say the least.

Bischoff, of course, previously served in the same position with WCW in the mid-90s and was successful for a little while as the man in charge, but shady politics, hefty contracts and storylines that made us wonder forced Bischoff out of WCW.

Many believe he and Huk Hogan are doing very similar things in TNA nowadays that killed WCW years ago, even though many have been against it.

Some have been wondering about TNA's future for some time, especially after reports surfaced that Spike TV may be in a remolding mode like it was years ago when it parted ways with the No. 1 show on cable at the time, WWE RAW.

One has to wonder if Carter does step down, would Panda Energy back out of TNA too? Panda Energy, owned by Dixie's father, has been the go-to company for many TNA financials. Even talents like Ric Flair made deals with PE when they came in because they didn't trust TNA money, if you will. TNA was said to be in debt at one point and PE was paying a ton to keep it up and running.

If we play this out where it conceivably could go, Spike TV cuts out TNA and PE backs out, would TNA be around any longer? What if just Panda Energy backs out?

There has been some talent that has stayed because of Dixie Carter, such as Sting for instance. If she goes, there is talent that would also leave. As a result, once again, could TNA still stand?

Of course, Carter could always retake her position as TNA President at any time. But for now, she's off the grid, and it could stay that way.
